About Green Top Markets

Connecting Local Makers, Food Producers & Town Communities

Based in South Wales and serving towns across South England, Green Top Markets is a small, family-run business hosting vibrant artisan food and craft markets, community fayres, and equipment hire. We are here to support local makers and bring people together in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere.

Our Story

Why We Are Called Green Top Markets

Our name comes from two simple things: our signature green gazebos that pop up on market morning, and our dedication to being as green and eco-conscious as possible.

1. Our Signature Green Gazebos

When you visit one of our events in Chepstow, Newport, Porthcawl, or across South Wales, you'll see a welcoming row of signature green gazebos lining the high street.

We supply these 3m x 3m gazebos pre-erected in situ for our traders. This removes the heavy physical burden of transport and setup, giving our markets a clean, beautiful, and instantly recognizable visual canopy.

“Our green tops bring visual charm, consistency, and a welcoming feel to every town high street.”

2. Our Eco-Conscious Green Ethos

The ‘Green’ in Green Top Markets stands for our commitment to environmental responsibility. We strive to make our markets as green as possible in every town we serve.

We encourage traders to use plastic-free, biodegradable packaging, support local food supply chains that minimize transport miles, and ensure every market site is left clean and sustainable.

Environmental Commitment

Proud to be Part of the Green Growth Pledge

Green Top Markets is proud to be part of the Green Growth Pledge—a Welsh Government initiative helping local businesses take real, positive steps to protect our environment and build a greener future for South Wales.

What the Green Growth Pledge Means for Our Markets

Being part of the pledge is simple for us: we believe local markets should care for the environment and the communities where we gather. From helping new traders switch to eco packaging to keeping event sites tidy, sustainability is woven into how we work every day.

Our Pledge CommitmentGreener South WalesSupporting Local Makers & Low Carbon Miles

Plastic-Free & Sustainable Packaging

We support our local bakers and makers in cutting out single-use plastics, using compostable, paper, or biodegradable packaging across all stalls.

Short Supply Chains & Reduced Food Miles

By focusing on food producers, bakeries, and crafters from South Wales and South England, we keep transport miles short and support local family businesses.

Leave-No-Trace Market Days

Our market team makes sure every high street and castle grounds venue is kept clean, with proper recycling so we leave the site spotless.

The 'Green Top' Spirit

Our name isn't just about our green gazebos—it reflects our pledge to run every market as sustainably and responsibly as possible.

Our Community Ethos

A Friendly Market Spirit & Support for Local Makers

We are more than just a market operator—we are a small business passionately supporting other small businesses and creating warm community spaces where people love to gather.

A Friendly Market Spirit

Our markets offer something completely different from everyday supermarket shopping. We're not an impersonal corporate store—we're a place where you meet the actual baker, craft maker, or local grower who made what you're buying.

By creating a warm, relaxed community atmosphere in high street town centres, we encourage visitors to linger, chat with stallholders, and enjoy a vibrant day out.

“Promoting local produce and local people while creating a community hub within a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.”

Supporting Fellow Small Businesses

As a small business ourselves, we understand the challenges independent traders face. We remove barriers by providing pre-erected gazebos, transparent 55-day booking rules, and fair pitch fees in prime high street spots.

Whether you are an established producer or taking your very first market stall steps, we provide friendly guidance and support every step of the way.

“We love seeing micro-bakeries and craft artisans grow from their first market stall into thriving local brands.”
